Shorts, athletic shoes, and a hockey stick is all that is required. Gloves are recommended; this can be hockey gloves or type of protective gloves (even garden gloves work!) Not required but permitted are helmet with cage, mouth guards, shin guards.

For sticks, you can purchase one at pro shop in the arena or at a nearby equipment store. Facebook Marketplace is great way to find a stick for cheap.

For gloves, they can be ice hockey gloves or any type of protective glove that still allows for agile stick handling.

For shin guards, they can be ice hockey pads or soccer shin guards.

No, street hockey requires no hockey experience. All kids (6-11 yrs) are welcome to participate.

With your registration fee your child receives an NHL Street branded reversable jersey. This will be your team jersey for the season.

Any kid that wants to try goalie will have an opportunity to play the net. We provide the goalie equipment.

In 2026, we will be playing next to Mt. Clemens Ice Arena at the old tennis courts. They have allowed us access on Monday nights. You can park just like you would going into to the arena.

From 6:30-7:30pm the younger division will practice then play a game.

From 7:30-8:30pm the older division will practice then play a game.

1. This is the first season of NHL Street in Mt. Clemens so please be patient. There will likely be things that need to be improved or adjusted.

2. Coach. Coaching your kids team is very simple and the commitment is minimal.

3. Ref. Games will be reffed, but we can always use another one. If you have experience with the game of hockey, you will be able to ref street hockey with ease.

Bring your lawn chair and cheer on your player just like you would any other sports event.
